This one is finely poised but heavily tilted in Atletico’s favour.

A 2-0 away win has given Atlético Madrid exactly the kind of advantage they thrive on under Diego Simeone: something to defend, something to control.

For FC Barcelona, the equation is simple and brutal. Win by two to force extra time, win by three to go through. Anything less, and they’re out.

History isn’t on their side either. Overturning a two-goal first-leg deficit after losing at home is extremely rare in Champions League knockout football. It’s not impossible, but it demands something close to a perfect performance.

Barcelona do have reasons to believe. Their attacking rhythm has been strong domestically, and young star Lamine Yamal continues to look like a game-breaker on the biggest stage. If there’s a spark, it likely comes from him.

But Atletico at home, protecting a lead, is one of the toughest tactical puzzles in Europe. Simeone’s side are masters of game management is compact, disciplined, and ruthless when chances appear.
