URC Round 15: Weekend Fixtures, Log Standings & Predictions
Friday 17. Saturday 18 April 2026 : United Rugby Championship
The United Rugby Championship heads into a massive Round 15 this weekend, and ja things are getting serious now. Every point is important with the playoffs around the corner. The race for the top eight is properly heating up, and for the South African sides, this round could make or breek their campaigns.
Glasgow Warriors still sit top of the log, but the chasing pack, including our local boys are right there. Expect intensity, physicality, and a proper weekend of hard rugby.

At the top, it’s tight between Glasgow and the Stormers, while the likes of the Bulls and Lions are right in the playoff fight. Down the bottom, it’s survival mode. Plain and simple.
Friday 17 April Fixtures
Ulster vs Leinster. Kingspan Stadium, Belfast
Massive Irish derby, huge playoff implications. Ulster Rugby and Leinster Rugby are separated by just one point, and this one could decide who gets a home quarter-final. Expect a proper battle up front niks fancy, just hard rugby.
Prediction: Ulster to edge it 24–22.
Edinburgh vs Zebre. Rugby Stadium Edinburgh
Edinburgh Rugby are desperate here. They’ve had a tough season and need maximum points. Zebre Parma have struggled all campaign, but ja, you still have to pitch up and do the job.
Prediction: Edinburgh win comfortably 34–10.
Dragons vs Bulls. Rodney Parade, Newport
The Bulls head to Wales knowing this is a must-win if they want to stay in that top eight. The Dragons RFC can be tricky at home, but the Bulls pack should dominate here.
Prediction: Bulls win 17–31.
Saturday 18 April Fixtures
Lions vs Glasgow Warriors. Ellis Park, Johannesburg
Big one, this. The Lions at Ellis Park is no joke. Altitude, tempo, and that Joburg crowd. Glasgow Warriors have been class this season, but touring SA is a different story, boet.
Prediction: Lions to pull off a big win 28–25.
Stormers vs Connacht. Cape Town Stadium, Cape Town
The Stormers at home? Dis mos ‘n fortress. Connacht Rugby are dangerous, but Cape Town form has been next level this season.
Prediction: Stormers win comfortably 36–17.
Scarlets vs Cardiff. Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli
Welsh derby, but the form lines are clear. Cardiff Rugby are pushing for playoffs, while Scarlets are hanging on.
Prediction: Cardiff win 15–28.
Benetton vs Munster. Stadio Monigo, Treviso
Munster Rugby are building nicely towards the playoffs. Benetton Rugby can be stubborn at home, but Munster’s experience should see them through.
Prediction: Munster win 22–35.
Ospreys vs Sharks. Swansea.com Stadium, Swansea
Massive clash for both sides. The Sharks need this, no question. The Ospreys are in the same boat, so expect a proper grind.
Prediction: Sharks to edge it 20–27.
What this means for the rest South African teams
With the regular season wrapping up next month, every game now is knockout rugby in disguise. For the South African sides, it’s simple stay in the top eight, and then anything can happen.
The Stormers look like genuine contenders for a home playoff, while the Lions and Bulls are right in the mix. The Sharks, though, still have work to do and plenty of it.
One thing is certain, this weekend is going to be lekker. Hard hits, big moments, and serious playoff pressure.
