Sunday 19 April 2026 : BKT United Rugby Championship – Round 15 Results

Round 15 of the United Rugby Championship delivered proper drama this weekend upsets, statement wins, and a playoff race that’s getting seriously spicy.

The biggest talking point? A full-on smash-and-grab in Cape Town, where the Stormers nearly untouchable at home all season. Were stunned 33–24 by a clinical Connacht Rugby outfit.

Elsewhere, Leinster Rugby wrapped up the Irish Shield (again, because of course they did), the Bulls absolutely demolished the Dragons, and Edinburgh kept their faint playoff hopes alive in a nail-biter.

With just three rounds left, the Race to the Eight is no longer simmering. It’s boiling over.

Friday 17 April Results

Ulster 21–29 Leinster : Kingspan Stadium, Belfast

Leinster did what Leinster do efficient, clinical, and ruthless when it matters. Their 29–21 win over Ulster Rugby secured a record fifth Irish Shield title and kept them firmly in the hunt for a home quarter-final.

Ulster were in the fight early doors, but once Leinster clicked into gear in the second half, the result felt inevitable. Ja, it’s becoming a habit now.

Edinburgh 31–30 Zebre : Edinburgh Rugby Stadium

Absolute chaos, the good kind.

Edinburgh Rugby edged Zebre Parma by a single point in one of the games of the round. For Edinburgh, it’s five priceless log points that keep their playoff dreams flickering.

Zebre, though you almost feel for them. Competitive again, but still no cigar. They’ve improved a lot this season, but the win column isn’t reflecting it.

Dragons 7–47 Bulls : Rodney Parade, Newport

The Bulls didn’t pitch up in Newport. They arrived with bad intentions.

Fresh off strong wins over Cardiff, Munster, and the Sharks, the Bulls simply bulldozed Dragons RFC 47–7. It was clinical, brutal, and very one-sided.

This is a side hitting form at exactly the right time. Loftus vibes are travelling and the rest of the URC should be paying attention.

Saturday 18 April Results

Stormers 24–33 Connacht : DHL Stadium, Cape Town

Yoh. Nobody saw that coming.

The Stormers had turned DHL Stadium into a fortress this season but Connacht Rugby came in with a proper game plan and executed it to perfection.

Organised defence, sharp counter-attacks, and zero panic it was a textbook away performance. Connacht now have four straight URC wins, including scalps against Leinster, Ulster, and now the Stormers. Not bad, hey?

For the Stormers, it’s a massive dent in their hopes of finishing top of the log. For Connacht, it might just be the result that sneaks them into the playoffs.

Lions vs Glasgow Warriors : Emirates Airline Park, Johannesburg (Result pending at time of writing)

The Lions had circled this one, a must-win with overseas travel looming. Meanwhile, Glasgow Warriors came in looking to bounce back after their European disappointment.

With Springbok reinforcements back for the Lions, this one had all the ingredients. The result could seriously shake up the top half of the table.

And don’t sleep on Bulls vs Scarlets. The Bulls are flying right now, and another bonus-point win could push them into genuine top-four contention.
